Inspired by the Munich-based Alien Disco party, Malphino invites you to the first of two unique feasts of immersive tropical and global music at Jamboree, bringing together several bands of different forms, united in the sounds of Cumbia and more! This night is a special edition for the EFG London Jazz Festival, with Cumbia meeting the sounds of Brazil!

Expect a highly immersive musical rhythmic experience in an immersive off-stage setup, where the audience will be surrounded by the bands who take turns to play their music – a call and response, back and forth, back to back clash of sound, ideas, melodies and vibes will ensue, with the audience in the centre of this melting pot of sounds!

The Bands

Malphino is a multinational cumbia band inspired by a mix of accordion Colombian cumbia, Mexican Rebajada sound systems and Peruvian Chicha, as well as Martin Denny Exotica and cosmic organ sci fi scores. Malphino is not just a band but a place and mystical isle where everyone is welcome to dance away your troubles while the sun sets over the volcano of mount Lalango.

The London Gaita Social Club (LGSC) is an urban collective that performs Afro-Indigenous music from Colombia, one of the origins for cumbia rhythms. Drawing from the folkloric traditions of gaita flutes and drums, the group fuses vibrant rhythms and soulful melodies that celebrates this cultural heritage.

Beloved George is a London-based Brazilian-Topicalia-Fusion band, which is also known for hosting and promoting the successful Jambu Music Jam. Joined by musicians from Brazil, Angola, Portugal, England and Denmark, they bring originals and remakes exploring the energy of Brazilian rhythms mixed with influences from around the globe. You won’t resist the groove!

Plus each day features different guest musicians to fire up the night!

Jamboree food option: Our ‘Arepatoire’ kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish! Find the menu HERE!
