Mariachi Las Adelitas are the UK’s only female Mariachi band, born out of the desire to shatter stereotypes within this traditionally male-dominated genre. They are favourites of Cerys Matthews (BBC Radio6/ Radio4), who interviewed them twice on the UK’s most popular radio show, and premiered their versions of Back to Black (Huapango), El Toro Relajo in 2021 and Viva Mexico in 2022. They played at Women’s Mariachi Festival in L.A, California in 2018 where they also played live on both Univision and Telemundo TV channels. They also count Salma Hayek amongst their fans, and played for her private birthday celebration in London.

Infused with psyche-delic rock guitars and synths, hypnotic rhythms like cumbia, salsa and merengue, Imperio Bamba (tonight playing as a duo) creates a ritual for liberating the body from the sense of distance, pushing for togetherness. At the heart of Imperio Bamba are the leading duo, Jules Drade (Perú) and Javiera Limarí (Chile).
