A Sunday lunchtime concert with The Fletcher Henderson Project, a 13-piece swing group featuring students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, with special guest Ewan Bleach!
Directed by Malcolm Earle Smith, this exciting band specialises in jazz of the 1930s and showcases the next generation of jazz soloists. Today they will be celebrating the arrangements that Fletcher Henderson wrote for the Benny Goodman Band, and are joined by superb clarinetist Ewan Bleach. Highly recommended for dancers and listeners alike!
Ewan Bleach: A founding figure of jazz at Jamboree, and well known internationally for his work with the Cable St Rag Band, Tuba Skinny, The Basin Street Brawlers and his very own Fleeting Paradise Orchestra, Ewan is quite simply one of the best clarinet and saxophone players around, specialising in music of the 1920s and 1930s.
