From Adelaide, and now based in London, Duncan specializes in playing swing music from the 1930s. Drawing inspiration from the jazz greats Benny Goodman, Lester Young, and Louis Armstrong, Duncan loves to perform ballads, the blues, and up-tempo, toe-tapping swing numbers. His repertoire includes standards and lesser-known dance tunes, as well as his own compositions. On rare occasions, he has also been known to sing a song or two.
Duncan frequently travels across the UK, Europe and beyond, having played for dancers at Lindy Hop festivals with bands such as Pete Long’s Echoes of Ellington, Gordon Webster and Friends, Naomi And Her Handsome Devils, The Shirt Tail Stompers, Hot Sugar Band and Reverent Juke. He has also been seen performing at London jazz clubs and shows, including The 606 (in his co-led band, The Davison Hemstock Quintet), Ronnie Scott’s (with a variety of acts), and The Greatest Night of the Jazz Age.
