View London Reviews: This place is a little gem. Sometimes its like stepping back in time, to Berlin or Paris in the 1940s… sometimes it’s a rollicking night out, or somewhere to read the paper with a drink in comfortable, non-judging company, and other times it’s like the best party you’ve ever been invited to, and you feel very special and privileged. Some nights London’s best buskers and musicians jam until late, the beer and wine is cheap, and there’s a real sense of warmth and fun. Dancing optional, but always unselfconscious. A thing of beauty, full of smiles… Audience Member http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/jamboree-info-57628.html
Found this amazing little gem last weekend, made us feel like we were in Berlin or a Cuban rumshack…came down for a friends degree show fundraiser and stayed all night, drank cheap and tasty drinks with locals and art school kids, heard 2 excellent bands and dj’s, left happy and drunk. Will be back for sure.
The Cable street complex reminds me of old Soho or the old east-end, untouched by the savage, but well groomed claws of the commercial world that’d have a place like this machined into a Tesco’s local… the complex as a whole is cavernous with many stairwells, nooks and crannies, builders, cabbies, squatters, musicians… so I suppose having a place that looks like a Moth’s buffet called “Jamboree” is more than appropriate. the people there are cool the atmosphere is nice.
I did not regret going, the place is like a really nice circus tent/ house-of-slight-horrors, vaudevillian-Edwardian themed where everything is slightly broken or no longer does the thing it was designed to do but these are endearing qualities.
Yelp Review: There was a little cave behind the “stage” I never got to adventure into but there’s always next time… http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/jamboree-london
Yelp Review: The first (and only) time that I went to Jamboree, some seriously bizarre things were happening. The bar was small, but well-stocked and there was also some live music playing. All I remember were very tall men wearing suspenders ( those are braces, if you’re a Brit) and a whole lotta lederhosen on stage. Everyone in the audience was dancing feverishly, and everyone looked like they were having a great time. Audience Member http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/jamboree-london
Yelp Review: I guess I am into the slightly strange, because I had a FANTASTIC time here. My Londoner friend took me here when I was visiting and I felt like I was transported to a night in the roaring 20s. Nothing like this in Toronto. But, then again, my friend said that there’s nothing like this in London, either. Live entertainment was great. Crowd was super laid back and attitude-free – lots of artists and musicians, but not of the pretentious hipster type. At the break between sets we were ushered out to the courtyard where there was a guy doing sideshow that involved tuba playing with fire bursts. A truly unique little gem of a place. – audience member http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/jamboree-london

Fidgi: Those of you who know me well will be aware of how much I go on about a magical little place called Jamboree Venue. Whether you’ve been before or not, I’d highly recommend getting yourself down there to support it as it would be truly awful if it closed. It’s never a hugely expensive night out but always well worth it.
James: The finest London establishment of them all … The Jamboree we love you and we shall never let you close down without a fight!
Alex: It is a truly unique place and home to some of the finest music I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. It would be a huge loss for London, culture, co-operation and creativity
Simon: Wicked music nights, atmosphere, ethos, parties and all down to the people who run it, who are amongst the most passionate, imaginative and supportive people i have ever known and worked with! x
Passing Clouds: SAVE JAMBOREE! Jamboree in Limehouse is a beautiful venue founded in the same spirit as Passing Clouds which sadly runs the risk of closing this summer unless we support them. Get down there and have a drink, enjoy the gorgeous atmosphere and magical music, and help independent music venues stay alive! Xxx
Tobias: One of the best live music venues in London. It’s got music every single day(usually free entry !) from english (and any kind of) folk music to gypsy jazz, from swing to chanson, with a great atmosphere, staff and with a wonderful, kind, generous host & owner, who will be usually in the crowd herself, dancing like a dervish. It’s a real sanctuary, one of those tiny places tucked away at the end of Cable Street that you stumble in curiously, and end up staying all night dancing to wonderful live music, that you want to come back to every night to see what band is playing, a place that you think could never survive in London. It’s got spirit and soul.
